In the UK and in many countries around the world, hypnotherapy training is not regulated. Furthermore, in many countries, there are no agreed standards for hypnotherapy training.
In the UK, we do have National Occupational Standards (NOS) for hypnotherapy. These lay out the minimum knowledge and skill requirements for a hypnotherapy practitioner.
To meet the requirements of the NOS (H), there is a UK Core Curriculum for hypnotherapy.
This page is devoted to providing information so that you can make an informed choice when faced with the incredible diversity of hypnotherapy training. This can range from a few hours of an online course, up to those courses taking many months or years, whether in-person or online.
Not all hypnotherapy practitioner training will meet the requirements of the UK Core Curriculum, even in the UK.
